Employers who are interested in purchasing training for their valued employees or new hires can apply to receive financial support through the Canada-Ontario Job Grant.  The focus of this Grant is workforce development. Strong training applications are those that result in new hires, wage increases for the trainees, an increased number of paid work hours for the trainees or training that moves an employee from seasonal to year-round employment.

YES has seen many businesses successfully train their teams by utilizing the Grant.  Ozone is one local business that successfully utilized the Grant for workforce development.   Purchasing software accounting training for a valued manager created increased efficiency within the business.  As well as providing a wage increase and professional development to the manager, the training also allowed for the amalgamation of accounting for a few of the businesses within the organization’s holdings.

A training application for various aesthetics treatments for employees of Drift Day Spa resulted in a boost for the business and its employees.  This training application supported new hires as well as providing increased treatment training for existing employees.  This training resulted in pay increases for the individual trainees in addition to providing additional treatment options for customers and growth for the business.

There are many ways to utilize the Canada-Ontario Job Grant to help develop your workforce and strengthen your business.   Contact our Employer Services Team to get started:
