Position Overview:
The Residential Support Worker will monitor clients at regular intervals and provide care and support to clients; nights, weekends and during special outings/events. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide support to the residents at the Family Healing Wellness Centre.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A Bachelors of Arts or College Diploma in addictions, counseling, child and youth care or social work is preferred
- Experience in the field of Anishinabek addiction and mental health is required
- Candidates without the specific education qualifications and where the position does not require certified qualification to practice, but who possess an appropriate combination of experience and other academic qualifications will also be considered
- An ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Family Healing Manager or designate in relation to service requirements
- Must possess a Class “F” driver’s license or be willing to obtain a Class “F” license and have access to a personal vehicle
- Must hold a valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate
- A criminal records check is required including a Vulnerable Sector Search is required upon hiring
- Must complete a medical and receive the required immunizations as recommended by the local medical officer of health
