DESCRIPTION:
• Visitor interaction – connecting with visitors on site and at events to educate, promote, get
feedback, create networking partnerships.
• Volunteer recruitment / retention – recruit volunteers, coordinate and facilitate volunteers,
organize events, create volunteer database.
• Membership co-ordination – intake new members, manage member’s needs, build database,
research quarterly newsletter.
• Facebook/ Instagram and social media – through a systematic process plan and post to;
promote historical lighthouse tours, visitor programs, speaker series, fundraisers, and
member / volunteer opportunities,
• Correspondence – assist with drafting and researching stakeholder communicating on
projects while communicating events and mutual opportunities.
• Public presentations – assist in the research of lighthouse stories for, community presentation,
visitor experience signage, or onsite lighthouse tours.
• Historical research – researching in archives to find and utilize materials for newspaper
columns, special commemorative events, etc.

Eligible Candidates for the NOHFC, Program: People & Talent Program: Workforce Development must have qualify under the following items.

(i)

(ii) is either a new entrant into the workforce, is transitioning to a new career, or is
unemployed or underemployed and is entering a new field,
(iii) has not previously participated in NOHFC’s People & Talent Program,
(iv) is at least 18 years of age,
(v) resides in Northern Ontario,
(vi) is legally entitled to work in Canada
