This full-time position will assist an existing music/film industry service-based business expand its product and service range in a newly developed studio location. Tasks and responsibilities would range over a variety of different fields including video production, audio post-production for film and television, music production, and more. Additional tasks as needed. Some potential tasks and projects include:
- Editing video content for existing clientele.
- Filming, editing and coordinating of video projects.
- Web/social media content development and implementation.
- Client services.
- Engage in outreach activities within the music and film communities.
- Data management and digital organization.
This position will be a mixture of collaborative and independent work in Thunder Bay, ON, reporting to a supervisor.
Payment is $25/hour for 35 hours/week for a one-year contract.
This position is expected to utilize government funding through an Indigenous Workforce Development program and the applicant must self-identify as indigenous and they must be a new entrant into the work force, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field.
Qualifications:
- Recent experience in video production (filming, editing, project coordination and more).
- Additional experience in any of the following fields: social media management, audio production, graphic design, web design, data collection/research, marketing.
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere / Final Cut Pro X.
- Experience with other video editing software, and Digital Audio Workstations (DAW).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A degree/certificate from a post-secondary institution in related fields is highly recommended but not mandatory.
Other Information:
Preference will be given to a candidate with a flexible work schedule as there will be work on evenings and weekends. Opportunities for travel are a possibility.
Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license are an asset, but not required.
Basic on the job training in products from Google, Microsoft Office, Adobe, AVID, and more will be provided.
