YES helps Eric find the Right Fit!
When Eric decided it was time to find part-time work, he knew exactly where to turn. Having used YES services before, he was confident that our team could help him reach his goal. When it comes to job search, sometimes people need a little help, and some people have a lot of hurdles to overcome. Either way, having our team in your corner gives you the expertise and support you need to meet your training and career goals.
Eric connected with Employment Coordinator Annie Pepin. They discussed his employment goals, in relation to his experience, interests and preferred schedule. Eric was clear about what he wanted. He wasn’t looking for full-time hours, and as an early bird, morning shifts were just fine with him. His positive attitude and great sense of humour made working with him a pleasure, and Annie knew she could help him find the right fit.
Step one for Eric was working with Annie to update his resume based on the needs of employers in his field of interest. Annie teamed up with our Employer Relations team to identify opportunities that matched Eric’s preferred skills and schedule. One of our community partners, OPS, a busy parcel delivery service, was looking for reliable staff to join their early morning crew. Their shifts start bright and early at 6:30 a.m., with teams unloading freight and preparing trucks for delivery. Eric’s previous experience with similar work made him a strong candidate, and his enthusiasm sealed the deal.
After a successful interview, Eric landed the position and now works the weekday morning shift. He enjoys the work, the team, and the consistency of his new routine. Eric expressed his gratitude to Annie and the YES team for helping him find exactly what he was looking for.
At YES, we’re proud to provide personalized employment support for job seekers like Eric . Helping individuals match their skills and experience with local employers who will value their contribution is what we do. Congratulations, Eric, on your success, and thank you to OPS for being such a great community partner.

YES leadership; Executive Director Lorna Hunda and Program Supervisor, Tom Nesti, and staff members Shelley Jacobson and Sharon Kovacic attended the First Work Ontario Futures Conference 2025. It was an intense three days of networking and professional development at beautiful Blue Mountain. This year’s conference shifted focus from imagining the future of work to developing intentional strategy to meet the changing economical, technological and global forces facing our workforce. It brings sector leaders, employment service providers, policymakers, and employers toward a shared vision for the future of talent pipelines in Ontario. #futures25
