Michaela Finds a Place to Grow her Talents with Print Pros
When Michaela moved to Thunder Bay from Southern Ontario two years ago, she was looking for more than just a job. She was searching for a place to belong. Although she worked several jobs during her time here, none truly felt like the right fit. Friendly, open, and a natural listener, Michaela has a passion for customer service and a talent for working with business software. But it wasn’t until she connected with YES Employment Services that everything started to fall into place.
Michaela came to YES after leaving a role that didn’t align with her goals. She began working with Employment Coordinator Brenda Richtig to explore opportunities where she could grow and learn. She wanted to stretch the boundaries of customer-facing roles that would use her technical skills and allow her to focus on her interests as well. Brenda quickly recognized Michaela’s potential and set to work finding the right match.
As it happens, Michaela is also a visual artist, and when a position came up at Print Pros, she was thrilled. Print Pros has a long-standing relationship with YES, dating back to when we shared office spaces in the same building. To this day, Print Pros continues to partner with us when seeking new team members, and we’re proud to be one of their customers, too.
Owners Bob and Miranda Myers were immediately drawn to Michaela’s background in both art and software, but even more so to her strong focus on customer service. After a warm and friendly interview, they knew she’d be a great addition to the team and offered her a placement to begin right away.
Today, Michaela is thriving in her front-line role at Print Pros. She’s being trained in several areas, allowing the team to shape a position that fits her skills and interests. Learning about the business, has also allowed Michaela to explore using Print Pros to print her art and even create art-focused merchandise in the future. She feels like she’s finally found her place.
“I just love it here,” Michaela says with a smile from behind the front desk. “The customers are great!”
She also appreciated how smooth the onboarding process was.
“The owners are so approachable and really encourage feedback. They want to help me succeed,” she adds.

On Friday May 16th, our team raked, “grabbed” and cleaned up all the litter in the area around our building with the help of our Spring up to Clean Up kit from EcoSuperior. This community initiative gets our staff outside, and keeps our neighbourhood spic and span. Thanks to our Wellness Committee for organizing!
We are delivering our next IM&M+ program starting June 9th and it is open to participants of all ages. IM&M+ is a 10-week program designed to help participants set meaningful goals and take clear steps to achieve them.
