A Counsellor/Psychotherapist provides therapeutic interventions based on evidence informed and promising practice to individuals, couples, families, and workplaces to address issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, coping, relationship conflict, separation and divorce, stress, abuse and anger. Services are informed by strength-based, client-centered, inclusive practices and interventions which are congruent with TBC’s vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Providing short to medium term counselling/psychotherapy that is rooted in evidence-based practices.
  • Conducting clinical assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.
  • Participating in ongoing and regular clinical consultation.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation and reports, including collecting relevant data to evaluate client and service outcomes, and the use of measurement based care tools.
  • Advocating for and supporting clients in accessing other services.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • A sound theoretical framework for working in a variety of areas, with an emphasis on trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety and relationship issues
  • Superior communication skills
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships
  • Attention to detail in collecting and reporting measurement based care data and documenting clinical information in a timely and efficient manner

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate requires at minimum:

  • Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
  • Masters level degree in a social science with a minimum three (3) years’ experience
  • Solid clinical framework with knowledge in a variety of therapeutic interventions
  • A commitment to practices in all areas of responsibility that promote diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism
  • Bilingual (English/French) preferred

Pay: $39.04-$46.37 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week

Providing psychotherapy services: 3 years (required)

Licensing/ Certification:

Registration with the OCSWSSW or the CRPO (required)
