MAINTENANCE II Multi-Skill Worker (22-R676)

Site: St. Joseph’s Heritage & P.R. Cook Apartment
Shifts: Days (and some on-call coverage required)
Rate of Pay: $23.63 per hour

Reporting to the Supervisor, the Maintenance II Multi Skill is responsible for maintaining, installing, troubleshooting, moving, and repairing building components, property, equipment and fixtures throughout the assigned St. Joseph’s Care Group sites and for working safely and in compliance with policies, procedures and applicable legislation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

– Minimum secondary school graduation or high school equivalency certificate (GED) together with related job experience similar to tradesperson qualifications; or Technical school graduation with major in electrical, plumbing, millwrighting, painting, sheet metal, etc or an equivalent combination of experience and education (e.g. Provincial Building Operator’s Certificate)
-Five years’ related experience in the methods and practices of a particular trade

Skills/Abilities:

– Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
– Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers, SJCG staff, residents and families, contractors, and the general public
– Proficient computer skills for accessing information, updating preventative maintenance program, and/or equipment troubleshooting
– Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the job

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
