POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Events & Waterfront Services Developer, performs and carries out some supervisory tasks and responsibilities as necessary to the Splash Pad, Skating Rink, Water Garden Pavilion and Baggage Building Arts Centre at Prince Arthur’s Landing.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for the day to day operation of the Prince Arthur’s Landing Skate/Splash Pad, Water Garden Pavilion, and Baggage Building Arts Centre and ensures there is adequate staffing to run day to day operations.
2. Trains staff, assigns work schedules, and ensures Corporate policies are followed.
3. Assists in the orientation and training of staff.
4. Opens and closes facilities as per procedures.
5. Monitors shift changes and plans work for staff.
6. Monitors Mariner’s Hall rentals and communicate needs with staff.
7. Responsible for inventory of supplies to run the day to day operations.
8. Communicates and notes repairs that need to be made to the facilities and coordinates with Events & Waterfront Services Developer
9. Maintains safe facilities for program participants, groups, and volunteers.
10. Provides direction and assistance with room set up as required.
11. Responsible for lock-up of equipment.
12. Performs public relations functions, including handling inquiries, complaints, conducting facility tours, providing information relating to facility programs and services and general facility information.
13. Administers first aid as required, responds to emergency situations and completes the necessary forms relating to unusual events/incidents/accidents; reports same to Supervisor.
14. Performs the duties of the Facility Attendant as required.
15. Performs back-up duties for the Events & Waterfront Services Developer as required.
16. Performs other related duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
 Secondary school graduation
 Experience working with and supervising staff and volunteers
Skills/Abilities:
 Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
 Must have good customer service skills and be courteous and tactful in dealing with the public
 Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a member of a team
 Must possess the ability to direct, instruct, and work with facility staff
 Self-starter with proven organization skills and the ability to problem-solve
 Must be at a basic skill level in word processing and spreadsheet software
 Must be competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Assets:
 Some post-secondary education and/or experience in business, recreation or culture
 Previous customer service experience working with members of the public
 Interest in Recreation & Culture
 Volunteer Management Experience

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
 Will be required to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays and on call hours if required.
 Within 15 days of receiving a conditional offer of employment, must successfully obtain and maintain a valid standard first aid with CPR C certification
 Must undergo a successful Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
 Part-time
 Irregular hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
