Duties & Responsibilities:
– Manages Health databases for clients in Acute Care, Emergency and ELCAP
– Works with confidential health records: format, content, quality and use
– Completes transcription of admissions, discharges, consultations and surgical procedures
– Completes coding with use of ICD-10/CC1classification of health data with use of case mix grouping methodologies
– Assists with compiling of data and analyzing information for data analysis and utilization
– Uses computer technologies to capture, manage and analyze data through Meditec, Med2020 and Crystal Report Writing
– With knowledge of Health Care Legislation works with Manager on matters of legal, confidential and security requirements for patient information
– Performs health records activities for the release of information as outlined in procedural manual
– Retries in and out-patient charts for authorized personnel as requested
– Performs filing duties as assigned within the Health Records Department
– Assists Team Leader – Health Information Management Professional in all other functions of the Department as necessary
Qualifications:
– Certified in the science and technology of Health Information Management
– Holds professional designation – CCHRA(C)
– Member of CHIMA in good standing
– Experience with ICD-10/CC1 coding classification of Health Data
– Ability to apply case mix grouping methodologies
– Ability to compile data and analyze information
– Experience using WinRecs abstracting system and Crystal Report Writing
