Geologist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Geologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting geological research, collecting and analyzing data, and supporting various projects related to earth sciences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply technical skills in GIS, data analysis, and research within a dynamic environment focused on construction, environmental assessment, or resource exploration. The position requires a strong foundation in geological principles combined with proficiency in relevant software tools and technical knowledge.

Duties

Conduct fieldwork for data collection, sampling, and site assessments to support ongoing projects.
Knowledge on use off road vehicles.
Good understanding on opperating a GPS
Utilize GIS software such as ArcGIS, Micromine, Qgis, GrassGis, and garni Base Camp to map geological features and create detailed reports.
Perform data analysis using tools like MATLAB and Python to interpret geological data sets.
SWIR and XRF
Support research initiatives by reviewing existing literature, compiling data, and preparing technical documentation.
Collaborate with construction teams to provide geological insights that inform project planning and safety measures.
Apply mechanical knowledge to operate or troubleshoot geological equipment as needed.
Assist in the development of models for subsurface analysis and resource estimation.
Maintain accurate records of field observations, sample locations, and analytical results for project documentation
Proficiency in GIS platforms such as ArcGIS and for mapping and spatial analysis.
Strong data collection skills with experience in organizing large datasets for analysis.
Advanced data analysis skills using MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages.
Solid understanding of geological research methods and principles.
Mechanical knowledge related to geological equipment operation or troubleshooting.
Experience with construction projects or site assessments is a plus.
Ability to interpret geospatial data and create detailed visualizations.
