Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining kitchen standards, and supporting daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes

  • Prepare specialty meals, including food for customers with allergies or intolerances

  • Prepare and cook meals for special events such as banquets

  • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards

  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed

  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, equipment, costs, and consumption

  • Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety

  • Clean kitchen and work areas according to health regulations

  • Train staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and proper food handling

  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to kitchen staff

Supervision

  • May supervise or guide general kitchen staff as required

Cuisine Specialties

  • Cantonese cuisine

  • Vietnamese cuisine

Experience & Specialization

  • Experience in a commercial kitchen environment – 1 to 2 years

  • Experience in the green economy sector is considered an asset
